New Competition Pistol: The HK P30L
July 14, 2015

My father is in town for the weekend, and it just happens to be Father’s Day. Going to the range on Father’s Day weekend has become somewhat of a tradition with my family in recent years, and this weekend was no exception. It was an interesting and fun experience doing the ever-so talked about but ever-so rare “I’ll let you shoot mine if I can shoot yours,” exchange. While my father is somewhat of a collector of classic firearms, my interests lie in the cutting-edge and practically useful. Not to say his are not practical or useless, but rather tools for applications that interest me very little, as my focus lies currently on tactical applications and my growing interest in competition.

That’s what makes days like this fun. New experiences, and rare exchanges with those I care for deeply. If the opponents to gun ownership only knew the rich experiences that lie behind using firearms for sport.

Of course my wife came along and she ran her VP9 like a pro. To quote Ice Cube, “Today was a good day.”
